TurningPoint

TurningPointTurningPoint is an Assessment for Learning tool that sits as a toolbar within Microsoft PowerPoint. It helps assess your pupils by giving them PowerPoint slides with multiple-choice questions to answer. Pupils respond to the questions using special handsets or their computers and the results are shown immediately on screen. TurningPoint reports deliver crucial information in seconds, allowing teachers to assess individuals and groups easily and accurately.

Scalable and flexible

Using RF or XR handsets you can create a scalable system that can be bolted together with other sets inside or outside of your school. This flexibility means TurningPoint can be used by hundreds or even thousands of people at the same time, making it perfect for assemblies and large scale events at your school.

What you get

TurningPointTurningPoint kits are available in packs of 16, 32 and 40. These kits include software, handsets and a TurningPoint receiver.

Hardware options

TurningPoint apart is compatible with a wide range of hardware. This gives you the flexibility you need to use the tool in a wide range of contexts, from small classroom discussions to large whole school assemblies.

You can choose from the following:

  • ResponseCard XR
    T    he latest TurningPoint response hardware with a multi-line LCD display and alphanumeric entry make it an ideal tool for self-paced assessment.
  • ResponseCard RF (Radio Frequency)
    A radio-based option is works well for small and large groups. Its operating range of 60 metres makes it ideal for all kinds of rooms.
  • ResponseCard IR (Infra Red)
    An infrared option if you are on a tight budget. Works best in small meeting rooms or with smaller groups, rather than in large halls.
  • vPad
    This is a software-based option which works on PDAs, laptops and PCs when they are connected to a network. Pupils and teachers can use the PCs or PDAs that they already have, and from the teacher’s perspective using vPad is the same as using any other response device.
  • vPad Presenter
    vPad Presenter allows teachers to control TurningPoint sessions from anywhere in the room.
